Batana oil - does it stimulate hair growth?
What is Batana oil?
Batana oil or ojon oil are all names for the same product: an oil pressed from the American palm tree. Elaeis Oleifera for insiders. Batana oil is extracted from the nuts of this palm tree. The tree is called the American oil palm because it is found in South and Central America. Especially in Honduras and Brazil. The nuts are rich in oil, which is extracted by cold pressing. The American oil palm occurs mainly in the wild and is virtually not planted in plantations, making this tree scarce.
The indigenous Miskito people in Honduras have been using Batana oil for hundreds of years. They call it "miracle oil" because they say it has helped them to grow longer and stronger hair. It is also said to have many benefits for the skin. But is that true?
Batana oil actually contains several natural fats. These are rich in omega-6 and omega-9, which can reduce the evaporation of water from the skin, making it less dry. In addition, the oil contains a lot of vitamin E. This vitamin has strong antioxidant properties. It is known for its nourishing and healing properties for skin and hair.
Batana oil also has a surprising benefit not found in most natural oils on the market: it can also protect our skin from UV rays. (Not enough to replace sunscreen, though!) Batana oil contains tocopherols and tocotrienols, which act as antioxidants. They protect the skin from UV rays and environmental pollution and at the same time fight free radicals that lead to sun damage.
Batana oil versus batana butter
By the way, there is a difference between batana butter and batana oil. So do not confuse them. Batana butter is sometimes sold as batana oil, but it is extracted in a different way to the natural oil. The oil is extracted by a process called cold pressing. It is not exposed to temperatures higher than 35 degrees celsius (95°F). Higher temperatures render the biologically active substances inactive. These two different processes make it two different products.

Does Batana oil stimulate hair growth?
But now the crucial question: does it stimulate hair growth? The many good properties of batana oil do not mean that it stimulates hair growth. There is a lack of scientific literature on the effect of batana oil on hair growth. The claim that it stimulates hair growth can therefore not be substantiated. Hair loss can be caused by various factors, such as genetic factors, hormonal changes, illness and stress. While some natural oils such as Abyssinian oil and argan oil have been shown to improve overall scalp and hair health, there is no scientific evidence that the use of batana oil supports the treatment of hair loss.
If you want to buy batana oil or order it online, you should be careful. Home remedies for hair loss or shedding can be problematic. Common home remedies such as oil, henna, onion juice or aloe vera are not harmful to the scalp or hair. However, some people may have an allergic reaction to unprocessed ingredients. It is also possible to deviate from the recommended dosage.
Ingredients that do stimulate hair growth
Batana oil has a caring effect, but does not stimulate hair growth. Are you curious about ingredients that do have a stimulating effect on your hair growth? Our hair growth products contain various ingredients that contribute to healthy hair growth.
Minoxidil
Minoxidil stimulates hair growth by improving scalp blood flow and activating hair follicles, which prolongs the growth phase and slows hair loss. When used consistently, it increases hair density and thickness. It is available in different concentrations and can cause side effects such as scalp irritation. Minoxidil Linn, approved after extensive research, is specifically for hereditary hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). Minoxidil 2% is designed for women because of their sensitivity to Minoxidil, while men are better off using the stronger 5% variant for optimal results.
Neoxyl
Neoxyl is a hair growth complex consisting of 10 carefully selected active ingredients that address hair loss in multiple ways, based on scientific research. It has been specially developed as an alternative to Minoxidil and other hair growth lotions. Although Minoxidil is traditionally used to combat hair loss, it has limited effectiveness and many side effects. Neofollics lotion contains the Neoxyl hair growth complex, making it a powerful and scientifically-based remedy for hair loss.
Piroctone Olamine
Piroctone Olamine, also known by its brand name Octopirox, is a powerful ingredient that fights fungi and yeasts that cause scalp problems such as dandruff. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, promoting scalp health and reducing hair loss by restoring the microbial balance. Neofollics' hair growth stimulating shampoo, which contains Piroctone Olamine, is an excellent alternative for those who do not want to start using a lotion right away. This shampoo offers an easy and effective way to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss.
Besides ingredients that stimulate hair growth, some of our hair care products contain similar restorative and conditioning oils for hair and scalp. Natural oils play an important role in hair care, thanks to their ability to nourish, moisturise and protect hair from damage. Our hair care products incorporate various conditioning oils to promote hair health and vitality. These oils are extracted from various sources and offer many benefits, including restoring shine, fighting frizzy hair and strengthening hair fibres. Argan oil is ideal for hair care. The hair becomes healthier and stronger thanks to the vitamin E, which penetrates deep into the hair shaft. The vitamin E also ensures that the hair is protected from external influences such as environmental pollution and sunlight. The essential fatty acids in argan oil nourish the hair. The hair becomes shiny, stronger and more elastic. Abyssinian oil is extracted from the seeds of the Crambe Abyssinica. This plant is called African onion cabbage or Russian mustard. This plant is native to the Mediterranean region and parts of East Africa, such as Ethiopia (also known as Abyssinia). It is an oil that protects the hair shaft and provides shine, moisture and protection. Castor oil is made from the beans/seeds from the castor plant, also known as the miracle oil tree. The plant is native to East Africa, India and the south-eastern Mediterranean region. Castor oil is ideal for people with dry or damaged hair and/or split ends. It nourishes both the scalp and the hair and provides a beautiful shine. So if you suffer from dry or damaged hair, products with castor oil are perfect for your hair care routine. Lavender oil, derived from the flowers of the lavender plant, is known for its soothing properties for the scalp and the calming effect it has. In hair care products, lavender oil improves dry or brittle hair by nourishing the scalp and strengthening the hair roots. This results in stronger, more resilient and radiant hair, making it a good choice for those looking for a natural solution to hair problems.
